Valentina Matvienko: 9th Nevsky Ecological Congress Will Facilitate Joint Efforts on Keeping Planet Clean

Today, during the conversation with the journalists Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council Valentina Matvienko spoke about the efforts taken in the field of protection of the environment. Among the events aimed at drawing public attention to the issue is the 9th Nevsky International Ecological Congress to be held on 27–28 May 2021 in the Tavricheskiy Palace.

“Today, the ecological agenda comes to the forefront both in Russia and worldwide”, noted Valentina Matvienko reminding that the Russian Federation has developed upon the decree of the President the system of measures ensuring environmental safety.

“We need to raise ecological culture, environmental responsibility of the businesses for production. We need, if you like, to do ‘ecological vaccine’ to each citizen of our country, so that he or she would realize their responsibility for the future of the planet”, said the Speaker.
