Valentina Matvienko: Immortal Feat of Ancestors Serves as Moral Compass and Example of Patriotism

Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko delivered an address on the occasion of the 82^nd anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

According to the head of the upper house of the Russian parliament, on the Day of Memory and Sorrow, one of the most bitter and dramatic pages of history is addressed. “We will never forget what trials and hardships people endured in that terrible time and at what price the freedom and independence of the Motherland were won,” said Valentina Matvienko.
