Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic approved the candidature of Askarbek Shadiyev to the post of First Vice Prime Minister

Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic approved the candidature of Askarbek Shadiyev to the post of First Vice Prime Minister. 98 of 103 MPs voted in favor of his candidature.

Askarbek Shadiyev noted that he was committed to the teamwork with the MPs.

Askarbek Shadiyev is an MP member of the parliamentary group Bir Bol and Chair of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic on International Affairs, Defense and Security.

In accordance with the amendments to the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic which came into effect on 1 December 2017, a Member of the Jogorku Kenesh appointed as Prime Minister or First Vice Prime Minister preserves his or her parliamentary mandate and the right to vote at plenary sessions.

With this, Askarbek Shadiyev will be the first MP-cum-Member of the Government in Kyrgyzstan. First Vice Prime Minister will oversee fuel and energy industry. In 2010-2012 he headed the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Askarbek Shadiyev is also a Member of the IPA CIS Budget Oversight Commission.
