Preparation for the 6th Forum of Belarus and Russia Regions was discussed at the Tavricheskiy Palace

A joint meeting of the Organizing Committees of the VI Forum of Belarus and Russia Regions took place at the IPA CIS HQ in St. Petersburg.

The meeting, headed by Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Yury Vorobyov, was attended by representatives of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat: Secretary General, Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat Dmitriy Kobitskiy, Deputy Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council, Plenipotentiary Representative of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Kogut and Deputy Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Irina Sokolova.

The meeting participants discussed the program of the forum, including the procedure for holding plenary and break-out sessions, as well as the number and composition of the proposed participants, the procedure for registering them, interaction with the media and a number of other organizational issues.

The key issues of the agenda is the hosting within the forum of a meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Commission of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and the Council of the Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on Interregional Cooperation.

Wrapping up the meeting, Yury Vorobyov noted a wide range of participants: about 600 people from both countries will participant in the event, including the official delegations of the upper chambers of the parliaments of Belarus and Russia, for 42 people each. At the same time, more than 70 regions of the Russian Federation and all regions of the Republic of Belarus will be represented at the forum.
