Russia Day is celebrated on 12 June

The Russian Federation celebrates the freedom, civil peace and good understanding among people based on law and justice.

Russia Day is one of the most important public holidays in the Russian Federation. It has had its name since 2002, before that it was celebrated as Russian Independence Day.

On 12 June 1990 The First Congress of People’s Deputies of the RSFSR adopted the Declaration on State Sovereignty of Russia.

The country celebrates the holiday with concerts and fireworks.
