Tajikistan marks the Day of National Unity

Day of National Unity is an official holiday in Tajikistan established by presidential decree of 22 May 1998. On this day 17 years ago the sides of the conflict signed a peace treaty effectively putting an end to the bloody fratricidal conflict and opening a promise of democracy, free elections and national revival. From thereon national unity is the supreme national value.
