The Commonwealth member nations celebrate the New Year

Armenia rings in the New Year for three days – 31December and 1-2 January, which are official days off in the country. Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan celebrate the New Year on 1-2 January, while the Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic, Moldova, Tajikistan and Ukraine see this holiday in on 1 January. The winter holidays in Russia last from 1 to 8 January.
