Dmitriy Kobitskiy Discussed Cooperation Issues with Martin Chungong

Today, within the framework of the IPA CIS delegation participation in the Fifth World Conference of the Speakers of Parliaments, Secretary General – Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat Dmitriy Kobitskiy met with Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Martin Chungong.

The parties exchanged opinions on relevant issues of bilateral cooperation and discussed the importance of preserving historical memory, fighting distortion of history and the measures taken by both organizations in order that the horrors of the WWII never be repeated. .

Martin Chungong supported the efforts of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly in developing programs to counter international terrorism and offered to join the implementation of the initiatives of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime and the Inter-Parliamentary Union to create a database of legislation in the field of combating terrorism and extremism.

The parties agreed to draft and sign a framework agreement on cooperation aimed at systematizing the interaction between the organizations.
