Lilia Gumerova: IPA CIS Model Laws Serve as Guideline for Legislators

Head of the IPA CIS delegation on the Fifth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament, Chair of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Science and Education, Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture Lilia Gumerova spoke at the panel discussion “Parliaments and Global Governance: the Unfinished Agenda”.

According to Lilia Gumerova, the democratization of global governance is impossible without the active participation of parliamentarians in political processes at the UN and other international organizations. The senator recalled that the IPA CIS had extensive experience in lawmaking. Lilia Gumerova also noted readiness to share the experience with colleagues from other countries and work together to harmonize the legal framework of cooperation in various fields.
