Eurasian Intergovernmental Council Held First in-Person Meeting Since Outbreak of Pandemic

On 17 July 2020, the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council held a meeting in Minsk. It has become the first in-person meeting of the Council since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The meeting was attended by Chairperson of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Roman Golovchenko, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin, Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Kubatbek Boronov, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Mikhail Myasnikovich, as well as Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Ion Chicu and Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee Sergei Lebedev.

The main topics of the discussion were the elimination of trade barriers in the domestic market, the adaptation of a comprehensive plan to combat the COVID-19 and other infections, the development of systemic approaches to the introduction of product labeling and other relevant issues.
