Fighting Pandemic, Ecology and Protection Against “Fake News” Became Key Topics of Baltic Sea Parliamentary Conference

On 30 August 2021, the 30th Baltic Sea Parliamentary Conference took place online.

The event brought together members of regional parliaments, representatives of international and national sectoral organizations, executive and legislative bodies.

The meeting was chaired by President of the Baltic Sea Parliamentary Conference Pyry Niemi. Speaker of the Riksdag of the Kingdom of Sweden Andreas Norlén, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden Ann Linde, President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Margareta Cederfelt, First Deputy Chair of the Committee of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on Control and Regulations Oleg Nilov, Vice President and President Emeritus of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean Pedro Roque delivered reports during the conference.

The IPA CIS Council Secretariat was represented by Head of the Department for International Relations, Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Political Issues and International Cooperation Maksimillian Selyutin.

Fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, environmental issues, digitalization, countering misinformation and “fake news” were among the key topics of the event.
