Global Space Exploration Conference — GLEX-2021 Kicked Off in Tavricheskiy Palace

Today, the opening ceremony of the Global Space Exploration Conference — GLEX-2021 took place in the Tavricheskiy Palace – the headquarters of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly.

The conference is co-organized by the International Astronautical Federation and the State Space Corporation Roscosmos supported by the Saint Petersburg Committee for Tourism Development.

IPA CIS Council Secretary General Dmitriy Kobitskiy addressed the participants with a welcome speech and wished fruitful deliberations.

The opening ceremony was attended by Executive Director of the International Astronautical Federation Christian Feichtinger, President of the International Astronautical Federation Pascale Ehrenfreund, Director General of the State Space Corporation Roscosmos Dmitriy Rogozin, Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov, Deputy Chair of the Committee of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on Economic Policy Ivan Abramov, Deputy Chair of the Committee of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on Economic Policy, Industry, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship Denis Kravchenko, Executive Secretary of the Commission of the Russian Federation on UNESCO Affairs, Ambassador-at-Large Grigory Ordzhonikidze and other honorary guests. In general, the conference brought together representatives of 59 countries, including China, India, USA, Canada, Mexico, etc. 

The GLEX-2021 is held in St. Petersburg from 14 to 18 June 2021 and features a number of events, including the plenary session, the forum of global cooperation, eight technical sessions and various interactive presentations.
