Meeting of CIS Economic Council Held via Video-Conferencing

On 30 June 2020, the 86th meeting of the CIS Economic Council was held via video-conferencing. The session was chaired by Chairman of the CIS Economic Council, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Jamshid Kuchkarov.

The parties exchanged views on social and economic situation in the CIS countries and possible joint efforts to minimize the negative consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The participants were informed on the establishment of the CIS exhibition and trade centers at the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy in Moscow.

The Council members adopted the Action Plan of the Implementation of the Strategy of Ensuring Transport Security in the Territories of CIS Member Nations with Regard to the International Transport Operations for 2020–2025.

A number of documents were adopted at the meeting, including the Action Plan of the Implementation of the CIS Concept of Cooperation in Combating Oncological Diseases for 2020 – 2024, the Information on Implementation of the CIS Concept of Building and Development of the Intellectual Property Market, approved by the Decision of the Council of the CIS Heads of Government of 28 October 2016, the document on the cooperation within the CIS in the field of veterinary medicine and many other.

The next 87th session of the CIS Economic Council is to be held in Tashkent in September 2020.
