Model List of Works Prohibited for Child Labor Under Development in CIS

On 10 March 2021, the first meeting of the working group on the preparation of the Model List of Works Prohibited for Persons under 18 took place in Minsk via videoconferencing.

The Model List will include hard physical hard labor, as well as labor that is harmful to the health and moral development of children and adolescents. Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Social Policy and Human Rights Evgenia Vladimirova proposed to prepare this document in the form of a model list so that each Member Nation could use it depending on social and economic characteristics, specialization, professions, etc. The meeting participants suggested the possibility of preparing, based on this document, draft recommendations for inclusion in the Long-Term Plan of Model Law-Making of the CIS for 2020-2022.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the representatives of the CIS Executive Committee, the General Confederation of Trade Unions and basic organizations of the CIS Member Nations in the field of cooperation on labor standards, the Belarusian National Technical University and Research Institute of Labor of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Belarus.
