Model List of Works Prohibited for Women Labor Under Development in CIS

On 17 March 2021, the meeting of the working group preparing the draft Model List of works, professions and positions prohibited or restricted for women labor use was held via videoconferencing.

The Model List will include types of work related to particularly harmful or hazardous, in the fields of chemical, cement and printing industries, underground and mining works, well drilling, oil and gas production, metalworking, ferrous and nonferrous metallurgy, shipbuilding and ship repairing, railway transport etc.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the General Confederation of Trade Unions, the CIS Executive Committee, as well as the statutory bodies of the CIS Member Nations in the field of labor standards cooperation: the Belarusian National Technical University and the Research the Institute of Labor of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Belarus. Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Social Policy and Human Rights Evgenia Vladimirova represented the IPA CIS Council Secretariat at the event.

The meeting participants discussed the received proposals for the draft and spoke about the expedience of its adaptation at the level of the CIS Advisory Board on Labor, Employment and Social Security, as well as its inclusion in the Long-Term Plan for Model Law-Making in the Commonwealth of Independent States for 2020–2022.

According to the press service of the CIS Executive Committee, the next meeting of the working group will take place in May 2021.
