Over a Hundred Events to Be Held in Year of Folk Art and Cultural Heritage in CIS

Today, the CIS experts finalized the draft Action Plan for the Year of Folk Art and Cultural Heritage in the CIS in 2022 via videoconferencing.

The meeting of the expert group brought together the representatives of the Azerbaijan Republic, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation, as well as the CIS Humanitarian Action Trust Fund and the CIS Executive Committee.

The IPA CIS Council Secretariat was represented at the meeting by Head of the Department for Ensuring Model Lawmaking Sergey Belousov and Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Culture, Information, Tourism and Sport Igor Minin.

The Action Plan features holding the International Cultural and Educational Forum “Children of the Commonwealth” on the topic “Cultural Heritage and Folk Art: Intercultural Dialogue”, organization of the days of culture and exhibitions of folk art of the CIS countries in the Tavricheskiy Palace, holding of a thematic session of the Youth CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, release of a special issue of the journal “Dialogue”, etc.

The meeting decided to submit the Action Plan for consideration by the Council of the CIS Foreign Ministers and the Council of the CIS Heads of Government.

According to the press service of the CIS Executive Committee, the Plan provides for holding of more than a hundred events aimed at preserving the traditions of folk art, historical and cultural heritage, literature, sports and tourism.
