Participants of Conference “Russia-Africa” Discussed Strengthening of Parliamentary Cooperation

Today, the plenary session “Russia-Africa in a Multipolar World” was held as part of the events of the Second International Parliamentary Conference “Russia-Africa”.
More than 40 official parliamentary delegations from almost all African countries took part in the event. Representatives of academic and expert communities from Russia and African countries, the State Duma and the Federation Council members, heads of federal executive bodies, heads of legislative bodies of the Russian Federation constituent entities, representatives of the business community participated in the conference.
The meeting included speeches by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko, Speaker of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin, as well as representatives of parliaments of the African continent.
The IPA CIS was represented by Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the IPA CIS Council Alexey Dolzhikov, Head of the Expert and Analytical Directorate of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat Denis Zhuk and Head of the Department for International Relations Maksimillian Selyutin.
The Conference is aimed at strengthening parliamentary cooperation with African countries in the conditions of formation of a multipolar world, developing relations and common approaches to legal regulation in the economy, science and education and security.
