Alexey Sergeev introduced the new draft IPA CIS Program on Drafting Model Legislative Acts in the Federation Council

The meetings of the Committee on Constitutional Legislation and State-Building and the Board of the Chamber took place in the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. At the meetings, the IPA CIS Secretary General – Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat Alexey Sergeev introduced the new draft IPA CIS Program on Drafting Model Legislative Acts for 2017-2019 and other documents, as well as hosting of international events initiated by the Federation Council.

The Board of the Chamber adopted the Program and schedule for 2017 with the support of the Committee on Constitutional Legislation and State-Building which coordinates the activities of the Federation Council related to the IPA CIS model law-making policies.

According to the Program, the drafting of 29 model laws is expected to begin in 2017 along with hosting of the 8th Nevsky International Ecological Congress. The plan for 2018 involves working on 18 draft documents, completion of drafting 22 instruments launched in 2017 and hosting of the 7th international congress Road Safety for the Safety of Life. In 2019, the IPA CIS is expected to draft one new model law and complete 25 draft documents initiated in previous years. The hosting of the 9th Nevsky International Ecological Congress is included in the Plan for 2019.

Alexey Sergeev expressed gratitude to Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko and the Board of the Chamber members for effective interaction and constructive and fruitful cooperation.
