The meeting of the Council of the CIS Defense Ministers took place in Moscow

The Council of the CIS Defense Ministers held its meeting in Moscow.

According to the press service of the CIS Executive Committee, the Council members discussed the guidelines for adaptation of the united air defense system to addressing the aerospace defense challenges. They also discussed the Appeal of the International Association of Labor Unions of Military workers of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Russian Federation, as well as joint activities related to the 25^th anniversary of the Council of the CIS Defense Ministers. The meeting also drew conclusions of the International Army Games 2016 and proposed ways of further development of military cooperation among the CIS member nations in the sphere of field training of troops.

The meeting also covered the issues of creation of the Association of Higher Military Schools of the CIS member nations, as well as improvement of practices on hosting the International Cadet Olympics, as well as the hosting of the II Military Sport Games of Neighborly Armies of the CIS.

The CIS Defense Ministers signed the documents regulating cooperation in the spheres of humanitarian demining, development of the CIS-wide military-oriented geographic information system, as well as in the fields of metrology and military hydrometeorology, building the CIS-wide electronic database of radiation, chemically and biologically hazardous sites on the territory of the CIS.
