CIS Council of Permanent Representatives Holds Session in Minsk

A meeting of the Council of the Permanent Representatives of the CIS Member Nations at the Statutory and Other Bodies of the Commonwealth took place in the CIS Executive Committee in Minsk.
The members of the Council discussed the issues related to CIS cooperation in the field of fundamental science, preparation for the meetings of the Council of the CIS Foreign Ministers and the Council of the CIS Heads of State that would take place in Ashgabat on 10 and 11 October, respectively, as well as the draft agendas of the upcoming events.
The Council of the CIS Heads of State is expected to discuss the Concept of the Presidency of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the CIS in 2020 and the Declaration on CIS Strategic Economic Cooperation, which was initiated by Turkmenistan this year.
The members of the Council were also informed on the results of the discussion on the implementation of the provisions of the Free Trade Agreement of 18 October 2011, which took place at the meeting of the CIS Economic Council in September.
