Council of the CIS Defense Ministers held its session in Moscow

The capital of the Russian Federation held the session of the CIS Defense Ministers. It was presided by the Defense Minister of the Russian Federation General of the Army Serguey Shoigu.

The session was attended by delegations of Defense Departments from 8 countries: the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan and by representatives of the CIS Executive Committee and Secretariat of the Defense Ministry Council.

The Defense Ministers analyzed the implementation of the Military Cooperation Concept of the CIS member states up to 2015.

The outcomes of the cooperation among the Defense Ministries and the bodies of the Council of the CIS Defense Ministers proved to be successful.

The heads of the Defense Departments also approved the draft of the CIS Aerospace Concept. The Concept is intended to coordinate efforts and cooperation of the air-defense forces in border surveillance.

The participants also approved the common action plan for the Council of the CIS Defense Ministers for 2016.
