Draft Agreement on the Council of Penitentiary Agencies discussed at the CIS Execom

The meeting of the WG on drafting the Agreement will take place on 13-14 November in Minsk.
The international reach and the scale of transnational crime in the CIS as well as the need for concerted action of the CIS members in implementing penal policies have brought about the need for a coordinating body.
The Council will engage in building subject-oriented programs on common priorities, harmonizing penal laws and follow-up on the relevant political decisions. When finalized, the draft Agreement will be submitted for approval to the Council of the CIS Heads of State.
