Experts discussed implementation of the Concept of Aligned Social and Demographic Policies of the CIS Countries

Meeting of the expert group on the approval of the draft action plan to implement the Concept of Aligned Social and Demographic Policies of the CIS Countries took place Minsk.

The draft plan includes measures in social and labor areas, social welfare, public health, demography, ecology, migration and promoting conducive socio-cultural environments. The document fixes commitments on the improvement of contractual legal framework regulating cooperation in social and demographic spheres, developing national social and demographic laws reflecting the provisions set out in the Concept, as well as hosting research conferences, consultations and meetings.

The Concept was developed to provide a comprehensive tool for the protection of social rights across the CIS, combining economic, political, legal, administrative measures and aiming to minimize human rights violations. The Concept was approved by the CIS Council of Heads of Government in 2011.
