Extended meeting of the working group of the Eurasian Women’s Forum took place in Moscow

The Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation held an extended meeting of working group of the Eurasian Women’s Forum. Vice Speaker of the Upper Chamber of the Russian Parliament Galina Karelova presided at the meeting.

The participants focused on perspective areas for implementing the Forum’s decisions, the report on Women’s Role in Modern Russia, and the National Action Strategy for Women for 2017-2020.

Elena Eremenko, Deputy Chief of the Department for Parliamentary Cooperation, represented the IPA CIS Secretariat at the meeting.

The Eurasian Women’s Forum took place in the Tavricheskiy Palace in St. Petersburg on 24-25 September 2015. The Northern Capital of Russia convened members of parliaments, representatives of executive authorities, business communities, academia and NGOs, as well as distinguished members of international women’s movements from around the world.

The next Forum is expected to take place in 2018.
