International Trade Union Forum of Young CIS Communication Workers is taking place in the Tavricheskiy Palace

The Tavricheskiy Palace, headquarters of the IPA CIS, hosted the opening ceremony of the International Trade Union Forum of Young CIS Communication Workers.

The Forum was held on the initiative of the International Communication Workers Trade Union, the Communication Workers Trade Union of Russia and the Union for Service and Communications Workers of Sweden. Chairman of the Communication Workers Trade Union of Russia Anatoly Nazeykin opened the forum.

In his welcome statement, Acting Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council, Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat Sergey Antufiev mentioned a wide geographical distribution of participants.

“It is highly important that the forum is attended by young representatives of the trade union movement of the CIS Member Nations, as main social problems are particularly relevant among the youth. Job-seeking, remuneration, protection of young specialists and many other issues need to be regulated by law. The harmonization of the legislation of the CIS Member Nations is one of our objectives, that is why the hosting of this event in the Tavricheskiy Palace is to our mutual benefit”, said Sergey Antufiev.

The event brought together the delegations of the trade union of communication workers of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Switzerland, Sweden, and Uzbekistan. Margarita Safarova, Secretary-in-charge of the Youth Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member Nations (YIPA CIS), attended the meeting on behalf the IPA CIS Council Secretariat.
