Last 2017 meeting of the Council of the CIS Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives took place in Minsk

The event was attended by Executive Committee Chairman – CIS Executive Secretary Sergey Lebedev. Plenipotentiary representatives of the CIS member nations at the Committee on Economic Affairs of the CIS Economic Council took part in the meeting via videoconferencing mode.

Permanent plenipotentiary representatives drew the outcomes of the chairmanship of the Russian Federation at the CIS in 2017.

Members of the Council noted the extensive work, implemented by Russia within the margins of its chairmanship, and advised Tajikistan, for the consistency of operations, to use Russian experience in the field of informing the Council on the interim results of the implementation of the Convention of Chairmanship of the Republic of Tajikistan at the CIS and of the action plan of its implementation.

The meeting also adopted the joint activities plan of the Executive Committee and the Council of the CIS Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives on the implementation of the decisions of the CIS supreme authorities, as well as the proposals of the heads of delegations, initiated in 2017 during the meetings of the Council of the CIS Heads of State, the Council of the CIS Heads of Government, and the Council of the CIS Foreign Ministers.

Permanent plenipotentiary representatives also focused on the results of their activities in the expiring year and discussed the draft action plan for 2018 taking into account the priorities of the development of the Commonwealth.

Wrapping-up the meeting First Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee – CIS Executive Secretary Viktor Guminsky awarded Andrey Shvedov with the certificate of the CIS Executive Committee for his long-term and fruitful work to strengthen the Commonwealth of Independent States.
