On key documents of the 137th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union

The Inter-Parliamentary Union, the oldest international parliamentary association, hosts one retreat session every year. The Tavrichesky Palace in St. Petersburg – the IPA CIS headquarters was the venue of the 137th IPU Assembly in October 2017. The Assembly adopted a number of key documents, including St. Petersburg Declaration on Promoting cultural pluralism and peace through interfaith and inter-ethnic dialogue and Resolution on Sharing our diversity: The 20th anniversary of the Universal Declaration on Democracy.

Secretaries General of the IPA CIS and the IPU agreed that the IPA CIS Council Secretariat would make available the Russian version of the adopted documents in the IPA CIS official website to inform the CIS member parliaments on the activities of international parliamentary community.

This initiative is another example of cooperation between the two organizations and will contribute to further development of the relations between the IPA CIS and the IPU.
