Meeting of the CIS Board on Youth Affairs will take place on 14-15 April in Minsk

CIS Board on Youth Affairs will hold its regular meeting on 14-15 April in Minsk, Belarus. This time it will be dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the CIS, said Chief of Office for Youth Affairs of the Ministry of Education of Belarus Natalia Pshenichnaya.

The Board consists of Vice Ministers responsible for youth policies. It also includes representatives of NGOs or leaders of national councils – umbrellas of multiple NGOs.

The agenda of the meeting has been drafted and includes the following items:

• 2014-2015 Implementation Plan of 2020 CIS Strategy for International Youth Cooperation and the progress of the same plan for 2016-2017;

• Matters of youth associations, movements and policies;

• Drawing the outcomes of the international youth contest 100 Ideas for the CIS

The participants of the meeting will be briefed on the preparation of the XIX World Festival of Young People and Students to be hosted in 2017.

While on mission participating in the 134 IPU Assembly in Zambia, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Konstantin Kosachev noted that the idea of hosting the World Festival of Young People and Students was widely welcomed in Lusaka. The cross-cutting theme of this year's Assembly is Rejuvenating Democracy: Giving Voice to Youth.

The IPA CIS is mainstreaming the role of youth through its Youth Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member Nations established on 22 November 2012.

YIPA CIS will hold its regular session on 19-20 May.
