Meeting of the Council of the Heads of CIS Migration Authorities to take place in Almaty

On 27 April 2018, Almaty will provide a venue for the meeting of the Council of the Heads of CIS Migration Authorities.
Aleksandr Gorovoi, Chair of the Council of the Heads of CIS Migration Authorities, First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, will open the session.
The members of the Council will analyze the migration situation across the CIS and the progress of implementation of the CIS Program of Cooperation in the Field of Illegal Migration for 2015-2019.
The meeting will also discuss the issue of adaption of migrants to social and cultural conditions in the country of residence, cooperation in the field of readmission, improvement of migration legislature, legal and information support for migrant workers, licensing of agencies providing employment abroad and tourism activities.
According to the press office of the CIS Executive Committee, the Heads of migration bodies of the CIS countries will discuss the relevance of accordance to the leading research and educational institutions the status of a basic CIS institution in the field of education, retraining and professional upgrade of specialists in countering illegal migration.
Evgenia Vladimirova, Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on the Social Policy and Human Rights, will take part in the meeting on behalf of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat. She will report on the progress of drafting the IPA CIS model laws and prospects for improvement of model legislation in the field of migration.
