Preparation of the Second Eurasian Women’s Forum discussed in Moscow

The international multimedia press-center “Russia Today” hosted a press-conference “Role of Woman in Modern Society” attended by First Deputy Chair of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Committee on Science, Education and Culture Lilia Gumerova, Deputy Chair of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Committee on Agriculture and Food Policy and Environmental Management Irina Gekht, Member of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Committee on Federal Structure, Regional Policy, Local Government and Northern Affairs Ekaterina Lakhova.

The event took place in the run-up to the Second Eurasian Women’s Forum. The meeting discussed the agenda of the Forum and its themes and also considered the idea of the role of parliamentary diplomacy in the implementation of the positive change in world politics.

It was also stressed at the press-conference that the Second Eurasian Women’s Forum promoted strengthening relations with European countries. It was also mentioned that around 120 countries had expressed their willingness to attend the Forum, which indicated that the gender issue ranks above relevant challenges.
