Preparatory meeting for the CIS-wide Forum of the Regions held in Moscow

The meeting was witnessed by the Execom Chairman Sergey Lebedev and SG of the IPA CIS Council Alexey Sergeev. The meeting adopted a draft plan of events reviewed the list of participants. The Forum is planned for the end of 2015. Un the future, the CIS will be largely driven by regional action. To achieve that, regions need a vision and proper accountability for its implementation. The IPA CIS put forward an initiative to promote the idea of a CIS-wide forum for the regions. The idea won support from the CIS Execom. At its regular session on 17 April 2014, the IPA CIS Council adopted a resolution to establish a Forum of Heads of CIS regional authorities.
