Regular meeting of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the CIS Member Nations took place in Minsk

According to the CIS Executive Committee press-service, the participants of the meeting discussed the Commonwealth priorities in the field of humanitarian cooperation for 2017 and the role of the CIS Executive Committee in implementation of the adopted regulations. The Council also considered the Procedure of quotes distribution, appointment and rotation of deputy chairs of the CIS Executive Committee – the CIS Executive Secretary and other officials for quota-based positions in the CIS Executive Committee.

The permanent plenipotentiary representatives elaborated the draft agenda of the regular meeting of the Council of the CIS Foreign Ministers which will take place on 7 April 2017 in Tashkent. Over a dozen of documents related to a wide range of interaction issues in the Commonwealth have been submitted for consideration by the foreign ministers.

The CIS Executive Committee submitted proposals for the draft agenda of the regular meeting of the Council of the CIS Heads of Government to be further elaborated together with involved ministries and governmental agencies.

The permanent plenipotentiary representatives agreed on the candidacy of Sergei Lebedev as the Head of the CIS Observer Team at the upcoming elections of members of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia to be held on 2 April 2017.

The Council members also agreed the draft agenda of the joint meeting with the Economic Policies Commission at the CIS Economic Council that to be held on 30 March 2017, as well as of the regular meeting of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the CIS Member Nations at the Statutory and other Bodies of the Commonwealth scheduled for 18 April 2017.
