IPA CIS initiatives welcomed in Minsk

The meeting in Minsk on 27-28 June was attended by Yuriy Andreev, representative of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat in the CIS Executive Committee.

Experts discussed IPA CIS motions on preparing Recommendations on public strategy as the main driver of sustainable development of nations, as well as the model law “On insurance medicine”. The discussion took note of motion made by the IPA CIS. Participants corrected and adopted the draft plan. It was suggested that the IPA CIS became the facilitator of these legislative acts.

Initially, the Concept was aimed at building a comprehensive mechanism of protecting social rights of CIS populations that combines economic, political, legal, and administrative tools and significantly reduces human rights violations. The Council of Heads of Government approved the Concept in 2011 and mandated the Advisory Board on labor, migration and social protection of the CIS members states to prepare a draft implementation plan.

The draft plan includes 8 sections covering work in relevant fields and provisions on improving legal framework in social and demographic cooperation and developing relevant national laws taking note of the Convention, as well as workshops, consultations and meetings.
