Participants of the partnership forum St. Petersburg and Ukraine: Cities Connected visit the Tavricheskiy Palace

Today, the forum participants visited the Tavricheskiy Palace. The guests were walked around the Palace and its offered a brief on its history. They also visited an expo of Orthodox Relics in the Ekaterininsky Hall.

Dedicated to the 1025th anniversary of the Baptism of Russia, the expo is organized by Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and Friends of Chersonesus Foundation, with the support of the IPA CIS.

The collection includes over 20 pieces: icons, pectoral crosses, tabernacles, and chalices. The Three Warriors, the leading exhibit of the expo, was discovered in Chersonesus almost 60 years ago.

A third of the exhibits were created by craftsmen of Holography enterprise, with the support of the administration of the national park Chersones Tavricheskiy and the National Museum of History, Ukraine.

The IPA CIS Parliamentary Center hosted the Forum on 1-2 November on the initiative of the Government of St. Petersburg. The Forum was aimed at fostering existing ties and shaping new promising partnerships.
