IPA CIS IIMDD Representatives Took Part in Roundtable “Impact of the Information Environment on Public Conscience”

On 19 April 2021, representatives of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat took part in the work of the roundtable “Impact of the Information Environment on Public Conscience” organized by the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the issues of legislative regulation of the social media activities, the limitation of access to the illegal content, the role of transnational media companies and their influence on distribution of information. The roundtable was opened by the Deputy Chair of the Committee of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on Constitutional Legislation and State Building Irina Rukavishnikova. The meeting was moderated by member of the Committee Alexey Pushkov.

The roundtable was attended by Deputy Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat – Director of the International Institute for Monitoring Democracy Development, Parliamentarianism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of IPA CIS Member Nations (IPA CIS IIMDD), Doctor of Laws Ivan Mushket, IPA CIS IIMDD Deputy Director, Candidate of Medical Science Elena Eremenko and Head of the IPA CIS IIMDD Analytical Department Roman Amburtsev.
