IPA CIS Observers Started Presidential Elections Monitoring in Republic of Belarus

Within the framework of the short-term monitoring of the presidential elections in the Republic of Belarus, the IPA CIS Observer Team began the process of familiarization with the final stage of preparations for the elections and early voting.

On 5 August 2020, the IPA CIS Observers visited Vitebsk and met with Chairperson of the Vitebsk Oblast Election Commission Dmitry Khoma. During the meeting, the observers were informed about the electoral preparations and the course of the election campaign in the region. In addition, the observers learned about the measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 during the elections.

The IPA CIS Observers also met with Deputy Chairperson of the Vitebsk Oblast Election Commission Vladimir Penin. He informed the observers about the preparations for the voting, as well as anti-epidemic measures taken in the field of campaigning.
