IPA CIS Observer Team Continues to Monitor Presidential Elections in Republic of Belarus

On 6 August 2020, the IPA CIS Observer Team monitored the final stage and early voting of the election campaign for the presidential elections of the Republic of Belarus.

During the day, the Observer Team monitored early voting at polling stations in Orsha and Kopys settlements, as well as Vitebsk Oblast and Mogilev. The IPA CIS Observers concluded that the voting was organized at a high level, there was a significant voter turnout for early voting, the national observers were present at all polling stations visited.

In addition, the IPA CIS Observer Team met with Chairman of the Orsha District Executive Committee of the Vitebsk Oblast Igor Isachenko, Head of the General Directorate of Personnel Management of the Mogilev Oblast Igor Ovseenko and Chairman of the Regional Territorial Commission of the Mogilev Oblast Valery Berestov. During the meeting, the observers were informed that voting was taking place in a calm atmosphere, the precinct electoral commission had created all conditions for the free expression of the citizens’ will.
