Participants of Anti-Terrorist Conference Discussed How Participation in Elections Contributes to Legal Education of Young People

On 23 March, Countering the spread of extremism and terrorism ideology among young people was discussed at the “Current Problems of Countering Extremism and Terrorism Ideology Among Young People” international conference in Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov. Welcoming speech of Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy was delivered by Deputy Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat – Director of the International Institute for Monitoring the Democracy Development, Parliamentarianism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of the IPA CIS Member Nations (IPA CIS IIMDD), Doctor of Law, Professor Ivan Mushket.

Preventing the spread of extremism among youth is an important area of international cooperation and public policy. The IPA CIS carries out lawmaking and international coordination of activities to combat terrorism and extremism.

Ivan Mushket and his Deputy Elena Eremenko made a joint report on “Participation in Elections as a Factor of Legal Education and Upbringing of Youth (on the Example of IPA CIS IIMDD Activities)”.

In their speech they told about the work of the IPA CIS IIMDD and its offices in the Azerbaijan Republic, the Republic of Armenia, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Moldova on legal education of young generation and development of international youth cooperation across the CIS.
