IPA CIS observers are invited to the election in the Republic of Azerbaijan

According to the constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the election to Milli Majlis will be held on 1 November 2015.
According to the invitation of Speaker of Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Oktay Asadov, the IPA CIS will assign a team of observers. It will be composed of parliamentarians of the CIS member nations, members of the Secretariat of the IPA CIS Council, and experts of the International Institute for Monitoring Democratic and Parliamentary process.
By the order of Valentina Matvienko, the Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Leonid Slutsky, the Chairperson of the Committee on Commonwealth Affairs of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, is assigned the coordinator of the team.
The IPA CIS representatives will monitor the election in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, and in other regions of the country.
