Shermukhammad Shokhiyen: Principal legal and administrative conditions of the pre-election phase have been met

Chairman Shokhiyen noted that over the recent years Tajikistan has been actively developing the concept of free elections. Currently, the Parliament of Tajikistan includes 5 political parties out of the total of 8.

Mr. Shokhiyen told the international observers that in second semester of 2013 the NCEC organized training workshops for members of precinct elecoms and promulgated a number of legislative acts to refine the Legal Regulations on the Presidential Elections in Tajikistan.

He also noted that a round table on the coverage of the election campaign by the leading media of Tajikistan took place in September this year. The Chairman took questions on the process of the ex-patria voting and the cooperation of the NCEC with international observers on monitoring the elections on the E-day of 6 November.
