Team of international observers: “Azerbaijan is prepared for the elections”

The IPA CIS international observers received a warm welcome in Shamkir. The team includes IIMDD director Dmitriy Gladey, deputy director of IIMDD Andrey Baranov, scholars, analysts and IIMDD IPA CIS staff members. Assisting the team is Aydyn Dzhafarov, representative of Milli Mejlis of Azerbaijan in IPA CIS.

The head of local authority and Chairman of regional elecom No. 98 briefed the team on the progress towards ensuring transparent, democratic elections in compliance with the national election law. The team visited the elecom to monitor the level of readiness for the upcoming presidential elections and inspected polling station no. 1 where they checked compliance of the results with the Electoral Code of Azerbaijan.

The team of IPA CIS international long-term observers proceeded to Samukh to continue the monitoring.
