Cooperation in Field of Countering New Challenges and Threats Discussed in Tavricheskiy Palace

On 23 September, a regular meeting of the Joint Commission at the IPA CIS for the Harmonization of National Laws Related to Security, Countering Emerging Threats and Challenges took place in the Tavricheskiy Palace – the IPA CIS headquarters.
The meeting brought together the members of the Commission, representatives of the statutory bodies and bodies of CIS sectoral cooperation, public authorities of the Commonwealth countries, as well as educational and scientific institutions and international organizations.
The meeting considered the draft Model Law on Public Security developed by the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center.
The meeting participants also were briefed on the progress of work on the draft CIS Recommendations on the Improvement of the Legal Regulation of the Activities of the Border Control Agencies in the Field of Countering Terrorism and the CIS Recommendations on the Improvement of the Legal Regulation in the Field of Suppressing Illegal Activities in the Waters of the Member Nations, drafted by experts from the Joint Chiefs of Border Guards.
The Commission approved and submitted for consideration to the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Defense and Security Issues the draft Amendments to the Model CIS Penal Code in terms of liability for financing terrorism.
