Meeting of the Permanent Commission on Agriculture, Natural Resources and the Environment of IPA CIS

The Tavricheskiy Palace, the headuarters of IPA CIS hosted the Permanent Commission on Agriculture, Natural Resource and the Environment.
Violeta Ivanov was nominated for the position of the Chairperson of the Permanent Commission and all the members were unanimous in welcoming her.
Parliamentarians and experts discussed the model laws drafts: On the environmental impact assessment (new version); On Extension and use of genetically-modified organisms in exported agricultural products; On preservation and rehabilitation of biological diversity and others.
The participants also focused on the draft model Forestry Code for the CIS Member Nations.
As part of the meeting the participants also elected deputies Chairperson of the Committee, the newly elected deputies are Deputy Chairperson of the National Assembly Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elton Arzuman ogly and First Deputy Chairperperson of the Committee of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Sergey Belousov.
