Chairperson and Members of IPA CIS Council Honored Memory of Great Patriotic War Victims

The Commonwealth countries celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The Chairperson and the members of the IPA CIS Council participated in ceremonies dedicated to the heroes who fought for their Homeland and liberated the world from Nazism.

Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko laid flowers at the Eternal Flame in Victory Park on Poklonnaya Gora in Moscow.

Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Dastanbek Dzhumabekov, along with President Sooronbay Jeenbekov and Prime Minister Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev took part in a requiem rally on Victory Square in Bishkek.

Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova Zinaida Greceanii with President Igor Dodon and Prime Minister Ion Chicu laid flowers at the Eternal Flame, at the Star Monument, at the memorial plaques and the grave of unknown heroes, as well as at the Grieving Mother Monument at the Eternity Memorial Complex in Chisinau.

President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and Speaker of the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rustami laid wreaths at the Memorial in Victory Park in Dushanbe.

Speaker of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Natalya Kochanova and Speaker of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Andreychenko paid tribute to the memory of heroes at the Masyukovschina Memorial Complex in Minsk the day before.
