Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council met with Speaker of the Parliament of Singapore

As part of her official visit to Singapore, Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko held talks with Speaker of Parliament of the Republic of Singapore Khalima Yakob.

The parties discussed the issues of interparliamentary cooperation including the development of legal framework.

According to Valentina Matvienko, it is the parliamentary diplomacy that can largely contribute in building trust and mutual understanding and lay a solid froundation for the future of interparliamentary relations.

Talking with the media, Valentina Matvienko stressed that it had been an open, substantial and constructive discussion.
