Message of the IPA CIS Council Chairperson on the occasion of the 74th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War

Dear Friends!

22 June 1941 is a tragic day of lasting significance in the Russian history. 74 years ago today, the humanity faced the outbreak of the most brutal and devastating war in its history, which claimed millions of lives of our fellow citizens. That was the Great Patriotic War which came to every family and affected the lives of several generations.

Through immense human losses, our multi-ethnic nation stood for the freedom of its Homeland, and saved Europe and, indeed, the world from Nazism. Courage, heroism and the profound attachment to the Homeland were a consolidating force in the fight against Fascism.

We mourn the fallen heroes who fought for peace, of the victims of starvation and hardship. There is no measure enough for our gratitude to the veterans and the heroes of the Great Patriotic War. They met the challenge unrelenting, rebuilt the country from ashes to give us a chance for a better life in a proud community as we are.

The unmatched labor of our fathers will remain in our hearts forever as a source of moral righteousness and patrioticс values for generations to come.

May the glory of the heroes shine! May the victors be remembered forever!
