Valentina Matvienko chaired the session of the Supervisory Board of Almazov Federal Medical Research Center

The session was attended by Valentina Matvienko, Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council, Veronika Skvortsova, Russian Minister of Healthcare, German Gref, Chairman of the Board, Sberbank, Evgeniy Shlyakhto, Director of the Center, representatives of businesses, research and non-profit bodies.

The participants discussed the working agenda and the objectives of the IPA CIS Expert Board on Healthcare, the new initiative of the IPA CIS launched in 2013. The session also focused on the Healthy Cities Program of WHO’s European regional bureau. The program is aimed at making the health of population a priority of urban policies.

The Board is expected to play an important role as a consultative body of the IPA CIS guiding development and improvement of legal framework on healthcare across the Commonwealth.
