Baku Hosts Conference on 15th Anniversary of Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States

On 21 November, the conference “15th Anniversary of TURKPA: Experience of the Past, Today’s Realities and Future Prospects ” dedicated to the anniversary of Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA) was held in Baku, the Azerbaijan Republic.

Deputy Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council – Plenipotentiary Representative of the Milli Majlis of the Azerbaijan Republic Aydin Jafarov made welcoming speech on behalf of the Secretary General of the Council of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly Dmitriy Kobitskiy.

TURKPA, established in 2008, today is an authoritative organization and plays a significant role in strengthening political dialogue and inter-parliamentary relations, development of mutually beneficial and equal cooperation between TURKA and IPA CIS was noted in the welcoming speech. Aydin Jafarov expressed gratitude to the organizers of the conference for their cordial reception and hospitality and presented commemorative souvenirs to TURKPA Secretary General Mehmet Süreyya Er.

The conference “Heydar Aliyev and Parliamentarism” dedicated to the 100th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev was also held in Baku.

MPs and embassies of Turkic states, as well as other officials participated in the events of Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States.
