CIS Countries Update Concept of Phased Formation of Common Labour Market and Regulation of Labor Migration

Today, a regular meeting of the Working Group on updating the CIS Concept of Phased Formation of a Common Labor Market and Regulation of Labor Migration and the development of an action plan for its implementation took place via videoconference.

Representatives of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan also the Council of the Heads of CIS Migration Authorities and the CIS Executive Committee attended the meeting. IPA CIS Council Secretariat was represented at the meeting by Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Social Policy and Human Rights Evgenia Vladimirova.

Participants decided to continue the practice of exchanging experience on the development and improvement of the CIS legal framework in the field of migration, including updating approaches to the conclusion of bilateral international treaties regulating labor activities, including the organized recruitment of citizens.

The Concept of Phased Formation of a Common Labor Market and Regulation of Labor Migration was adopted in 2017. Its updating is provided for by the Action Plan on the Implementation of the First Stage (2021-2025) of the Strategy of Economic Development of the Commonwealth of Independent States until 2030.
