Plenipotentiary Council drafts agenda for the meeting of CIS MFAs

According to the CIS Execom press-service, the meeting of the Council took place on 4 Feb 2014. The meeting was presided by the representative of Ukraine at the CIS Coordination Bodies Ivan Bunechko. The IPA CIS was represented by Yury Andreyev.

The delegates drafted the agenda of the regular meeting of the CIS MFAs to be held on 4 April in Moscow. It suggests that they focus on the implementation of the Plan of Multi-Level Inter-MFA Consultations within the CIS in 2013 and the adoption of the respective plan for 2014, the discussion of issues related to the support and growth of national sports, the declaration of 2016 the Year of Education in the CIS, and countering oncology diseases.

The meeting is also expected to discuss a number of security and military issues, including professional upgrade schemes for the managing officials of the police as well as in the sphere of preserving the world heritage.

The members of Plenipotentiary Council also considered proposals for the agenda of the regular meeting of the CIS Heads of State to be held on 30 May in Kiev and discussed pension support in the CIS while underscoring the importance of furthering cooperation in this sphere by means of bi-lateral agreements between countries.

The next meeting of the Plenipotentiary Council is scheduled for 20 March.
